Greg Carroll is the Director of Business Brokerage at First Street Business Brokers, bringing nearly 15 years of experience working in commercial banking with small businesses and emerging middle-market companies. Throughout his career, Greg has specialized in helping business owners and investors navigate financing, growth, and transition opportunities.
Prior to joining First Street, Greg held roles at some of the region’s leading banks, including Eastern Bank and Salem Five Bank, where he worked closely with business owners and commercial real estate investors. His experience includes building and managing portfolios of commercial clients, structuring lines of credit and term loans, and helping finance the acquisition of commercial real estate properties throughout the Boston, North Shore, and New Hampshire markets. His experience with these companies aligns perfectly with the types of businesses First Street seeks to work with.
Greg began his career at Eastern Bank in the bank’s credit analyst training program, where he developed a strong foundation in financial analysis and credit underwriting for small businesses, emerging middle-market companies, and commercial real estate transactions. He went on to hold several roles of increasing responsibility, including Portfolio Manager in the Managed Assets Group and Commercial Lending team, Small Business Lender, and Vice President of Middle Market Commercial Lending in Portsmouth. Most recently, Greg served as Vice President of Middle Market Commercial Lending at Salem Five Bank.
Greg is passionate about building lasting relationships and is committed to helping clients achieve the best possible outcomes. He is known for his integrity, determination, and willingness to go the extra mile to support the people he works with.
In 2019, Greg met Hank and Bill when they crossed paths while working on a mutual deal. The three stayed in touch over the years, sharing a vision of eventually working together. That relationship ultimately led Greg to join First Street, partnering with two like-minded professionals who share his commitment to helping business owners achieve successful outcomes and exits.
Greg graduated from Bentley University in 2010 with a B.S. in Finance and minor in Management and grew up in Andover, MA.
Greg lives in Newburyport with his wife, two children, and their labradoodle. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially on the coast—boating, going to the beach, skiing, and exploring the outdoors across the Seacoast.
